Former Bend restaurateur Jody Denton is on the move again. Denton confirmed yesterday on Facebook that he has been hired as a consultant for New Orleans’ new Restaurant R’evolution, expected to open next year.
He will be working with chefs John Folse (of Louisiana) and Rick Tramonto (of Chicago), who plan to serve “contemporary Creole cuisine” in the French Quarter’s Royal Sonesta Hotel. The duo have announced that they will also be considering other opportunities, and one must assume that Denton might become a part of those as well.
Denton, formerly of Merenda and Deep, announced his new job yesterday after meeting in Atlanta with owner-architect Bill Johnson of The Johnson Studio, designer of R’evolution and other high-profile metropolitan restaurants around the country.
According to an August 26 story in Nation’s Restaurant News, the restaurant will seat 197 in the dining room and 40 in the bar, along with an exposition kitchen for three meals daily.
“Restaurant R’evolution will serve to introduce an exciting contemporary Creole cuisine, to push the boundaries and expectations of dining in Louisiana,” Folse told the publication.
